Lisa Posthumus has been the head coach of the men’s and women’s fencing teams since 1999 and shares head coaching duties with co-head coach George Pogosov.

Posthumus, a 1993 graduate of Penn State, served as Stanford’s assistant coach from 1996-98. During her time on The Farm, Stanford has 19 NCAA Regional titles, 18 top-10 finishes at the NCAA Championships – including three third-place finishes – and a total of seven athletes win individual NCAA Championships. Prior to joining the Cardinal coaching staff, she was head coach at UC San Diego for three seasons.

As an undergraduate at Penn State, Posthumus led the team to the NCAA Championship in 1990, finishing third overall in women’s foil. She was a three-time letterwinner with a degree in Exercise Sport Science.
