COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Stanford finished the first day of competition at the APS Team Race Championship in ninth place with an 8-5 record.
Stanford dropped its first two races of the day but responded with big victories against Navy and Texas A&M to level its record at 2-2. The Cardinal dropped its following race against Yale but again rebounded quickly with a win against South Florida.
After dropping its race against Wisconsin, the Cardinal picked up two consecutive victories against Washington and Tufts.
Stanford then fell against College of Charleston, but finished the day strong with three straight victories. Saint Mary’s College of Maryland was the first to fall, followed by Roger Williams and Santa Barbara.
