Lake Natoma Invitational

STANFORD, Calif. – After a successful weekend in Oregon that helped Stanford climb four spots in the rankings to No. 7, the women’s rowing team will be back on the water for two days of racing at the Lake Natoma Invitational on Saturday and Sunday in Gold River, Calif.

The Cardinal will be one of nine teams in action at the Lake Natoma Invitational. They will be joined by No. 1 California, No. 4 USC, No. 6 Brown, No. 9 Notre Dame, No. 20 San Diego, Sacramento State, Kansas and Oklahoma .

Stanford’s first race will be the varsity four at 8:20 a.m. on Saturday. During the morning session the Cardinal will be going up against Brown and Kansas. At 8:50 a.m. the second varsity eight will take off and will be followed at 9:20 a.m. by the varsity eight. The second varsity four will race at 9:30 a.m. against USC, Oklahoma and Sacramento State.

The afternoon session will feature a matchup between Stanford, USC and Sacramento State. The varsity four will go at 4 p.m., the second varsity eight will race at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity eight rounds things out at 5 p.m. The finals of the second varsity four will conclude Saturday’s racing with the B final at 5:20 p.m. and the A final at 5:30 p.m.

On Sunday morning, Stanford will return to the water to face Notre Dame and San Diego. The varsity four leads things off again at 8:30 a.m. They will be followed by the second varsity eight at 9 a.m. and the varsity eight at 9:35 a.m.

An awards ceremony will follow the day’s racing at approximately 10:30 a.m. at the finish line.

TV Coverage
The PAC-12 Networks will be broadcasting the Lake Natoma Invitational on tape delay. An air date has not yet been announced.

Scoring System
At the conclusion of each session, the three groups will be scored based on results with their group. Nine points will be awarded for first place in the varsity eight, six for second and three for third. In the second varsity eight, the winner will get six points with four going to second place and two to third. The varsity four points totals are three for the winner, two for second and one for third.
