WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Signee Devin Norder closed out the 2014 USA Under-23 World Championship Trials with a win to make the Under-23 team for the Word Championships.
Norder, rowing for Sarasota Crew out of Florida, won both her races in the Ltwt B 2x over the course of three days at trials, capturing the victory on Wednesday with a time of 7:21.68. He was six seconds faster than rising senior Nancy Miles, who finished second in the finals with a time of 7:27.66.
The win places Norder on the U-23 team that will go to Varese, Italy next month for the World Championships. The regatta will take place July 23-27.
This is the second straight year that a Stanford signee has made the U-23 World Championship roster for the U.S. Last year Ruth Narode went as the youngest member of the women’s 8+ and won a gold medal in Linz, Austria.
