STANFORD, Calif. – Former Stanford standout Elle Logan was named the Female Athlete of the Year by ROWING Magazine in the latest issue.
Logan, who helped the Cardinal win the National Championship in 2009, has added to her success with a great year on the international level. Despite winning two Olympic gold medals with the U.S. women’s eight, she made the move to a single in 2013.
She immediately found herself in medal contention with some of the top rowers in the event. She made the A final at Amsterdam’s Holland Beker regatta and took fifth at the World Championships in Chungju, South Korea. As part of the 2013 Samsung World Rowing Cup, she took bronze in the single and silver in the four at the first one, bronze in the single at the second one and silver in the third one.
After the World Championships, she went back to competing in the eight at the Head of the Charles where she took the victory for the Cambridge Boat Club.
