STANFORD, Calif. - Senior Nnemkadi Ogwumike (Cypress, Texas/Cy-Fair High School) of the Stanford women's basketball team was selected as the Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 19-25.
Ogwumike set new career highs with 42 points and 19 field goals in fourth-ranked Stanford's 97-80 victory over sixth-ranked Tennessee on Dec. 20. She also grabbed 17 rebounds, had three assists and blocked a pair of shots.
The performance earned her Pac-12 Player of the Week as well as USBWA National Player of the Week honors. Ogwumike and the Cardinal open Pac-12 play this weekend, traveling to Los Angeles to take on USC Thursday at 7 p.m., and UCLA Saturday at 2 p.m.
