STANFORD, Calif.-- Earning the first ever Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor, sophomore sailor Molly McKinney earned her second-straight trip to the national singlehanded championships following a win on Friday in the conference's event.
McKinney never finished lower than third in any of the six races, winning three in a row and finishing in second in her final race after back-to-back third place finishes to open up the Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference championship.
Last year McKinney placed sixth at the national event. The Cardinal swept the top three spots in both the men's and women's events on Friday and Saturday as McKinney will be one of four teammates headed to Chicago on November 4.
