STANFORD, Calif.-- Sophomore Chioma Ubogagu (Coppell, Texas/Coppell High School) of the No. 1 Stanford women's soccer team was selected as the Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of October 3-9.
Ubogagu scored the first two goals against No. 3 UCLA in Stanford's 4-1 victory. The goals came in the first 18 minutes and sparked the Cardinal in a showdown for control of the Pac-12 Conference race. The goals were the fifth and sixth of her freshman season.
This is Ubogagu's first Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor and the first for the women's soccer team in the 2011 season. Ubogagu and the Cardinal boast a 13-01 overall record and a perfect 5-0 mark in the Pac-12 heading into Friday's televised match at Arizona State.
