STANFORD, Calif. - Chiney Ogwumike of the Stanford women's basketball team was voted the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 4-10, making her a five-time winner in 2012-13.
Ogwumike shot 64.0 percent from the field while averaging 22.0 points and 13.0 rebounds over No. 4/5 Stanford's sweep of Arizona and Arizona State. She also posted her 18th and 19th double-doubles of the season, the latter matching the Stanford single-season record she shared with older sister Nnemkadi Ogwumike from the 2011-12 season.
The Cypress, Texas native scored 26 points with 14 rebounds in Sunday's 69-45 win over Arizona State following an 18-point, 12-rebound effort Friday night against Arizona.
Through Monday's NCAA stat rankings, Ogwumike's 19 double-doubles are tied for second, and she is the only player to rank in the national top 10 in scoring (22.4 ppg - fourth), rebounding (12.4 rpg - sixth) and field-goal percentage (58.8 - sixth).
Stanford, tied for first on the Pac-12 table at 11-1 and 22-2 overall, travels south this weekend to visit USC Friday at 8 p.m. on Pac-12 Networks followed by Sunday's 12:30 p.m. tip at UCLA on ESPNU.
