Senior Leslie Foard (Cincinnati, Ohio / Mariemont High School) of the Stanford lacrosse team was selected as the Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of February 7-13.
Foard led Stanford to a 13-12 win over No. 10 Notre Dame in its season opener. The Cardinal midfielder scored two goals and contributed an assist to help a balanced scoring attack. Both of Foard's goals were on free-position shots after drawing fouls in front of the net. Foard's assist came on an Emilie Boeri goal in the first half.
In addition her scoring, Foard played a key role in the win, contributing five draw controls. Her five draw controls were a game high and gave Stanford much need possessions, particularly in the second half.
