STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford women’s gymnast Shona Morgan was named the Muscle Milk Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance this past weekend at the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional.
Morgan recorded top-10 finishes in all three of her events, including tying for third place on bars (9.900) and beam (9.925), and tying for ninth on floor (9.875). Her score on bars tied her collegiate best.
Performing in the leadoff position in all three events, Morgan’s scores helped lead Stanford to a second-place result and NCAA Championships berth. The Cardinal returns to the NCAA Championships for the seventh time in the past eight years and 14th time in program history.
Stanford will have this weekend off before heading to the national competition in Alabama on April 18-20.
