STANFORD, Calif. – Junior Michael Levy of the men’s gymnastics team has been named the Stanford Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Feb. 10-17.
Levy delivered strong performances on rings (15.400), floor (15.300) and vault (14.500) to help lead Stanford to a 445.150-442.400 victory over No. 1 Oklahoma at the Metroplex Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas. His score on rings was a collegiate best and he finished third in the competition.
This is the first award for Levy and the second for the men’s gymnastics team this season.
The Cardinal will take a brief midseason break, as multiple athletes travel to Las Vegas for the Winter Cup Challenge – a competition used to determine U.S. Gymnastics National Team members. Stanford returns to collegiate action March 1 at 4 p.m. when it plays host to the Collegiate Challenge.
