Final exams are finished, and Stanford teams are back in action this weekend as men's and women's basketball stage a doubleheader in Maples Pavilion, men's and women's diving take part in the winter national championship event, and women's volleyball continues its march to the Final Four at the Lexington Regional.
The Cardinal volleyball squad opens the weekend Friday at 4 p.m. PT against Minnesota in the Bluegrass State. Stanford, two wins away from its first Final Four since 2008, is the lone Pac-12 school in Lexington, surrounded by three Big Ten schools in Minnesota, Penn State and Michigan State.
Stanford women's basketball opens up Saturday's hoops doubleheader at 1 p.m., hosting No. 23/22 Gonzaga. The contest will feature a postgame celebration for head coach Tara VanDerveer, who on Nov. 27 became just the fifth women's basketball head coach to win 900 career games. The Cardinal will then host New Mexico Monday night at 7 p.m. Both contests will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.
The Cardinal men conclude Saturday's doubleheader at 5 p.m. against UC Davis, then head to the East Coast, where on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. they will face No. 9/12 Connecticut in Hartford on ESPN2.
Both diving squads will head to Austin, Texas this weekend to compete at the USA Diving Winter National Championships.
