STANFORD, Calif.- Stanford’s upcoming three-game homestand to open the 2013-14 season includes several promotions and ticket specials for each contest.

The 99th season in school history gets underway on Friday, Nov. 8, when the Cardinal hosts Bucknell in a 7 p.m. tip at Maples Pavilion. The three-game, seven-day stretch also features games against BYU (Nov. 11 – 8 p.m.) and Northwestern (Nov. 14 – 8 p.m.).

Stanford will be opening its season at home for the third time in four years on Friday against Bucknell, which is coming off a record-setting 28-6 campaign that resulted in an NCAA Tournament appearance. It’s the first meeting between the two schools. Promotions and ticket specials include the following:
Free Season Opener T-shirt: The first 1,250 fans will receive an exclusive Stanford Basketball t-shirt to commemorate the 2013-14 season home opener. Supplies are limited and fans are encouraged to arrive early.
Kids Free Game: All youth 8th grade and younger may register online for a free general admission voucher to claim a free ticket. Limited quantities available. Requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Educators Appreciation Game: California educators (K-12) may claim up to four free tickets. Limited quantities available. Requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Click here for more information.
Military Appreciation Night: Military service men and women, both active and veterans, can claim two free reserved seats at the Maples Pavilion ticket office on the day of game. Offer limited to space available. Valid military ID required.

Three days later, Stanford welcomes BYU to Maples Pavilion in a matchup that kicks off ESPN’s 24-hour Tip-Off Marathon. The Cougars are coming of a 24-12 campaign in which they reached the semifinals of the Postseason NIT, falling to eventual champion Baylor at Madison Square Garden. BYU will be playing its first game at Maples Pavilion since Jan. 4, 1969, one night after the Cougars defeated the Cardinal 95-89 in the first game ever played at the facility. Promotions and ticket specials include the following:
Veteran’s Day Special: All fans can purchase a special season tip-off ticket for $11 for a general admission ticket on the day of the game. Tickets subject to availability. First-come, first-served at the Maples Pavilion ticket office.
Military Appreciation Night: Military service men and women, both active and veterans, can claim two free reserved seats at the Maples Pavilion ticket office on the day of game. Offer limited to space available. Valid military ID required.
Fan Banner Giveaway: Be one of the first 750 fans to arrive and receive a Stanford Fan Banner to cheer on the Cardinal.

The homestand concludes on Nov. 14 when Northwestern visits The Farm. The Cardinal is 5-2 all-time against the Wildcats, with four of those wins coming over the last seven years. Stanford won last year’s meeting in Evanston 70-68, thanks to a late three-pointer from Aaron Bright and double-double from Josh Huestis. Led by first-year head coach Chris Collins, Northwestern is seeking its first-ever NCAA Tournament berth. Promotions and ticket specials include the following:
BeWell Night: Stanford faculty and staff who have completed the BeWell program requirements can claim four free tickets to the game. Visit BeWell to learn more.

In addition, fans can purchase this year’s Stanford Basketball Game Day T-shirt. Wearing the T-shirt allows fans of all ages to stand with the 6th Man in lower section 13 of Maples Pavilion (standing room only, space is limited). Adult and youth-sized T-shirts may be purchased online now and picked up at Roscoe’s Corner inside Maples Pavilion, at the Stanford Bookstore or at The Stanford Athletics Shop before Friday.
