STANFORD, Calif. – Led by first-team selection Mary Ellen Luck, six Cardinal women’s volleyball players were honored today when Commissioner Larry Scott announced the annual Pac-12 All-Academic teams.
Luck, from Houston, Texas, earns first team honors after receiving second team accolades as a junior and honorable mention status as a sophomore. The senior holds a 3.87 GPA in human biology at Stanford. Luck has competed in 50 sets for the Cardinal this season, averaging 0.70 digs per set and 0.14 asissts per set.
Senior Rachel Williams earned honorable mention accolades for the third straight season. Being recognized for the first time in their careers are sophomores Inky Ajanaku, Madi Bugg, Jordan Burgess and Brittany Howard, who were all honorable mention.
To be eligible for the selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor. Freshman and transfer students in their first season with a team are not eligible.
