STANFORD, Calif.- Two Stanford doubles teams made strong runs into the round of 16 at the 125th annual Pacific Coast Doubles tournament in La Jolla, Calif.
Jamin Ball Trey Strobel collected three victories before falling to California’s Filip Bergevi and Mads Engsted 8-6 while Yale Goldberg and John Morrissey picked up two wins before dropping an 8-3 decision to UCLA’s Joseph Di Giulio and Clay Thompson.
The tournament featured players from 19 schools, in addition to teaching professionals, juniors, college coaches, former tour players and independent entrants competing in the 128-team draw.
