Tony Azevedo
Stanford's all-time leading scorer will captain the United States squad in his third Olympic Games (2000, '04, '08) ... widely recognized as one of the best water polo players in U.S. history as well as in the world ... the fourth Stanford men's water polo player to be selected to at least three Olympic Games as a player, joining Wally O'Conner (1924, '28, '32, '36), Jody Campbell (1980, '84, '88) and Wolf Wigo (1996, 2000, '04).

2008 Olympics (Beijing): Opened Olympics with five goals in the U.S.' 8-4 victory over China (8/10).

2004 Olympics (Athens): Ranked second among all players with 15 goals in the Olympic Tournament as United States finished seventh.

2000 Olympics (Sydney): Burst onto Olympic scene in his debut Games, scoring 13 goals to rank fourth among all players ... Named to NBC's All-World Team following the tournament.

Stanford's all-time leading scorer with 332 goals in his career, Azevedo, among the nearly endless list of honors he has received in his storied career, also became the first-ever four-time winner of the Peter J. Cutino Award, given annually to the nation's top collegiate men's water polo player. He is also a four-time All-American as well as MPSF Player of the Year while leading the Cardinal to consecutive NCAA titles in 2001 and 2002.
