STANFORD, Calif. – Knowles Family Director of Men’s Golf Conrad Ray has advanced by automatic succession to the office of Golf Coaches Association of America president.
Heading into his 11th season at the helm of the Cardinal program, Ray most recently led Stanford to the semifinals of the 2014 NCAA Championships and its first Pac-12 Conference title since 1994.
Iowa’s Mark Hankins, who ascended to the GCAA presidency on July 1, accepted a position as the school’s assistant to the director of athletics and resigned from the association’s National Advisory Board.
“I would like to personally wish Mark Hankins well with his new endeavors, and thank him on behalf of the GCAA for his outstanding service to the association,” Ray said. “I am honored to transition into the role of president and will do my best to serve the membership across all divisions and its constituents to the best of my ability. The Golf Coaches Association of America has never been stronger, in my opinion, and I am eager to be part of its continued growth and the services it provides member coaches.”
Board members Andrew Sapp and Greg Sands have moved to the offices of first and second vice-president, respectively.
