White was selected as an outfielder to the second team, while Ashby received third team recognition at second base. It is the third consecutive second-team honor for White and the first for Ashby.
White had a terrific junior season, leading Stanford in hits (62) and ranking second in batting average (.356), runs (42) and on-base percentage (.441). White excelled against Pac-12 opponents, leading the Cardinal in batting average (.350), runs (20), hits (28) and total bases (42). She was selected to the All-Pac-12 Second Team earlier this week.
Ashby improved her numbers for the third consecutive year and excelled against conference competition. The junior led Stanford with a .489 on-base percentage, .552 slugging percentage and 18 walks, and was second on the team with a .343 batting average against Pac-12 opponents. She hit .342 with six home runs, seven doubles, 36 RBI, a .533 slugging percentage and .440 on-base percentage on the season.
The Cardinal finished the season 30-25 overall, marking the 18th consecutive year Stanford recorded a winning record. While the year did not end with a postseason berth, the Cardinal will look to build on this year’s successes as it returns a strong foundation next year, including all 10 starters.
