Each week will feature a Q-and-A with a member of the softball team. This week, get to know senior Danielle Miller.

Why did you decide to come to Stanford?
The school was the only one in the country offering beautiful weather, near-perfect academic reputation and a solid softball team. It was an obvious choice.

When you were a kid and even now, who would be your role models in sports?
Leah O’Brien Amico and Tim Tebow.

What is one tip you would give to a student-athlete to be successful in school and their sport?

Hitting a homerun against UCLA to dead center field during my freshman year.

What are your favorite and least favorite training drills?
Favorite: Hitting – tee work, front toss and batting practice; running – shuttle and beep tests.
Least Favorite: Fielding warmup.

What is your major at Stanford, and what are your career aspirations?
Science, Technology and Society. Become a top event planner or senior project manager.

What is one personal goal for the 2014 season?
Continue to stay positive in all situations to be the best teammate and disciple I can be.

What is the best advice you have ever gotten, and from whom?
“Be the best you can be every day by controlling what you can control; give the rest to God and let Him take over.” -My Dad

What are three things on your bucket list?
1. Lead at least one other person to Christ.
2. Go on at least one mission trip in the U.S. and at least one in another country.
3. Compete in a Half Ironman.
