Hi Stanford Softball fans!
It is official! We have officially completed all of our tournaments for the year and begin Pac-12 play this week starting with Cal. We were so happy to see so many of you made it out to our final home tournament of the year. We had a fabulous turnout this weekend, especially on Youth Softball Day.
I know I speak for everyone on the team when I say that we LOVE getting to talk to our fans. We got to answer some super interesting questions on Little League Day and we even sang one of our favorite cheers to everyone!
If you did happen to miss some of the action this weekend, never fear I have the weekend break down for you right here!
- The team went 5-1 at the Louisville Slugger Classic, picking up two victories over both BYU and Portland State, and a win against UC Davis. We’re now 10-1 at home this year.
- Erin Ashby hit a walk-off triple against UC Davis to give Stanford a 3-2 win. She went 9-for-17 (.529) with six RBI, two doubles and four walks during the tournament.
- Freshman Kylie Sorenson, normally our starting shortstop, pitched in four games and went 2-0 with one save and posted a 0.88 ERA. She batted 6-for-18 (.333) with three walks and three doubles.
As I said earlier we are starting Pac-12 conference play this week against California. It’s amazing how fast the season has gone, it seems like just yesterday I was writing about our first tournament!
As always we are looking forward to our upcoming series this Friday and Saturday where we take on the Cal Bears here at home for our conference opener. I hope to see everyone out at our games this weekend as we take on our rivals!
All the best,
