STANFORD, Calif. – No. 13/11 Stanford will look to keep its perfect record intact this weekend at the Mary Nutter Classic in Cathedral City, Calif.
The Cardinal (12-0) will play five games over three days, including three matchups against ranked opponents.
Stanford opens the tournament Friday at 10 a.m. against Maryland (1-10), followed by a 3 p.m. matchup against No. 15/15 Baylor (8-2). The Cardinal will take on No. 23/23 LSU (10-4) on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Stanford will see two opponents on Sunday beginning with Syracuse (2-3) at 11:30 a.m. and concluding with No. 2/3 Tennessee (9-0) on Friday at 2 p.m.
The Cardinal is coming off a convincing weekend at home in the Stanford Nike Invitational, earning five victories and outscoring opponents 34-16. Stanford has outscored opponents 104-23 and outhit competition 124-46 on the season.
Freshman Bessie Noll holds a team-high .548 batting average and .659 on-base percentage. She has started all 12 games and posted a .710 slugging percentage.
Cassandra Roulund leads the team in RBI (16), total bases (30) and doubles (7). She has 17 hits, which is tied for the team-high.
Madi Schreyer (9-0) has been strong in the circle and recorded victories in the past four games. She has notched 41 strikeouts, allowed seven earned runs and holds a 1.36 ERA in 46.1 innings of work.
Stanford has been electric on the base paths, stealing 26 bases in 28 attempts. Seven Cardinal have swiped at least one bag. Stanford is paced by Leah White (9-9), Tylyn Wells (6-7) and Hanna Winter (6-7).
