Well hello again Stanford softball fans!
First and foremost - happy belated Valentine’s Day to all of our fans out there! As I’m sure everyone celebrated the day and enjoyed it with loved ones, so did we.
Being the close family we are, we decided to do a secret Valentine exchange. So when we walked into our locker room Friday afternoon it was filled with presents galore! We even got special Valentine’s gifts from Coach A and Mikey (Coach A's son)!
We wrapped up a great weekend of softball here at home Sunday afternoon. We continued our flawless (and yes that is a Beyoncé reference) record of 12-0! I’ll give you a rapid fire review on our stellar weekend …
- Madi Schreyer picked up 4 wins while holding a 1.59 ERA.
- She notched 20 strikeouts and allowed only one extra base hit. In 28.1 innings of work she held teams to a stunning .164 batting average.
- Offensively we outscored opponents 34-16 this weekend to increase our season total to 94-22 while going a perfect 5-0.
But we didn’t stop there …
We continued our streak all the way to Davis taking on the Aggies and defeating them at home. A 10-1 victory that we celebrated afterwards with a lovely dinner and cupcakes brought to us by our very special fan Cliff and his mom (BIG thanks to both of them!).
We have a quick turn around this week. We leave tomorrow for our tournament in Cathedral City, Calif., where we will face a bunch of quality teams. We hope to see all of our fans out there supporting us in some wonderful Southern California weather!
