Softblog: A Great Start

Release: 02/12/2014

Hello again Cardinal fans!

We are back on campus after our first tournament! We got off to a GREAT start this season going 6-0 at the Kajikawa Classic. If you missed any of the action I’ll give you a short run down on our games.

We went 6-0, outscoring our opponents 60-6. We hit eight homeruns and batted .413 as a team. But our offense wasn’t the only highlight this weekend. Our pitchers Madi Schreyer, Carley Hoover, and Nyree White all pitched phenomenally in their first tournament of the year, holding our opponents to a .147 batting average.

This past weekend was great not just for the softball but also because many of us got to spend time with our families and friends.

We also had a special guest come out and support us this weekend. Cliff came all the way out to Arizona to lead our cheers (GOOOO STANFORD! GOOOO STANFORD!). It was such a surprise and definitely brought a smile to all of our faces. Thanks Cliff!

We have a quick turn around and are already preparing for our next tournament here on campus. We hope you will come out and support us this weekend!
