Levy Named All-District

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford men’s gymnast Michael Levy was named to the Capital One Academic All-District team, as announced by the organization Thursday.

 The honor recognizes student athlete’s-success in athletics and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced the first week of June.

Levy was a 2014 All-American on floor exercise, finishing seventh at the NCAA Individual Event Finals. He was a 2014 MPSF All-Academic selection and holds a 3.77 GPA as a human biology major.

Levy scored a career-high 15.450 on floor at the NCAA Finals to help Stanford finish third. He tied for second at the MPSF Championships on floor with a 15.350 and tied for ninth on rings with a 14.850.

To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution.
