NSCAA Scholar All-America teams

STANFORD, Calif. -- Stanford forward Courtney Verloo was named to the NSCAA Scholar All-America second team, the NSCAA announced Wednesday.

Verloo, a fifth-year senior from Tualatin, Ore., carried a 3.37 grade-point average as a human biology major. She had nine goals and six assists to tie for the team scoring lead. In her collegiate career, Stanford won 109 matches (109-10-6) and Verloo scored 23 goals and had 25 assists.

This season, Verloo was named to the NSCAA All-Pacific Region and All-Pac-12 first teams. She is the 10th Stanford player to earn Scholar All-America or Academic All-America honors all-time. She also earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.

Verloo scored Stanford's first hat trick in three years when she had three goals in a 3-2 overtime victory at Santa Clara on Sept. 22. She scored all three on dead-ball kicks, tying the match on a penalty kick in the final minute of regulation and scoring in overtime on a 22-yard free kick in the 108th minute.The performance earned her NSCAA, Top Drawer Soccer, and collegesoccer360.com national player of the week honors, and Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week accolades.She is currently in Florida at the U.S. under-23 national team camp.
