NCAA Tournament bracket
STANFORD, Calif. -- The Stanford women's soccer team will play South Carolina on Friday at 5 p.m. in the second round of the NCAA tournament, at UCLA's Drake Stadium.
The Cardinal, playing in the second round for the eighth consecutive season, wll be the first match in a doubleheader, preceding UCLA's match against Kentucky at 7:30 p.m.
The winners play Sunday at 4 p.m. at the same site.
Stanford (14-5-1) plays South Carolina (17-3-2) for the second time in three years in the NCAA second round. The Cardinal beat the visiting Gamecocks, 2-0, in 2011 on its run to the national title.
South Carolina was third in the Southeastern Conference and advanced to the SEC tournament semifinals before losing to Texas A&M. South Carolina beat Furman, 5-0, on Friday to advance.
Stanford got a first-half goal from Taylor Uhl and a shutout from goalkeeper Jane Campbell to beat Cal State Fullerton, 1-0, in the first round and extend its home NCAA tournament winning streak to 21.
