STANFORD, Calif. – Rising seniors Jordan Richards and Wayne Lyons have been named nominees for the Lott IMPACT Trophy, as announced Wednesday by the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation.

The Lott IMPACT Trophy goes to the college football defensive player who has the biggest IMPACT on his team both on and off the field.

The Pac-12 leads all conferences with a dozen nominees, as Richards and Lyons are two of the 14 defensive backs on the list.

Stanford’s Ed Reynolds was a semifinalist for award in 2013.

“We continually strive to honor those young men who embrace the characteristics of Ronnie Lott and everything he stands for,” said John Hamilton, Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation chairman of the board. “Once again, we have a group of student-athletes who we believe live up to those very high standards and we look forward to watching them grow their already impressive resumes this fall.”

Richards, a strong safety and Capital One Academic All-America second team honoree during his junior campaign, made 69 tackles in 14 games last season. Richards added three interceptions and three pass breakups.

Lyons made 69 tackles from his cornerback position as a junior, also adding two interceptions and two pass breakups in 14 games. Both interceptions came in the fourth quarter to seal a home win over Notre Dame.

The winner will be announced at the annual Lott IMPACT Trophy Banquet Dec. 14 at The Pacific Club in Newport Beach, Calif.
