FORT WORTH, Texas – Stanford’s Kevin Hogan has been named to the Davey O’Brien Award watch list in an announcement made on Wednesday. Hogan is one of 34 players on the list with the award given to the best quarterback in the nation.
Hogan, the Pac-12 Championship Game MVP, started and won the last five games of 2012-13 for Stanford. He won four straight games against as many ranked opponents to end regular season as well as defeating Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl Game. Despite his limited play, Hogan was Stanford’s second-leading rusher (263 yards) while quickly establishing himself as an accurate passer, completing nearly 72 percent of his attempts with nine touchdown passes against just three interceptions.
Stanford’s season opens Sept. 7 with an 8 p.m. (PT) home game against a San Jose State team that won 11 games a year ago. The game will be televised nationally on Pac-12 Networks.
Season ticket holders are now able to purchase individual game tickets for all 2013 home games. Single-game tickets go on sale Aug. 1 with availability based on remaining interest after season ticket sales, which are at an all-time high with nearly 33,000 already sold. Fans are encouraged to visit GoStanford.com to buy season tickets.
