STANFORD, Calif. – No. 10 Stanford earned a No. 2 seed at the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional on Saturday, April 5, at 1 p.m. (PT), where it will pursue a bid to the NCAA Championships.

It is the 31st consecutive season Stanford has advanced to the NCAA regional competition.

Joining the Cardinal in Baton Rouge will be top-seeded LSU, and (in order of seeding) Auburn, Arizona, Kent State and Iowa State. The top two teams in the regional competition will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships in Tuscaloosa, Ala., April 18-20.

The top two all-around competitors and each event winner not on a qualifying team will also receive a bid to the national championships.

The top 36 teams in the country, based on their regional qualifying score, qualified to the regional competition.

Stanford is ranked 10th in the nation and will face three top-25 opponents in its regional, including No. 3 LSU, No. 13 Auburn and No. 21 Arizona.

The Cardinal has advanced to the NCAA Championships in six of the past seven seasons and 10 of the past 13. Stanford has won five regional titles and 42 individual championships in its 36-year history.

The Cardinal finished second at the Pac-12 Championships this past weekend – the team’s best finish since 2010 when it placed second.  Stanford competed the regular season with a 19-4 record and went 11-3 against Pac-12 competition.

Stanford recorded 11 wins against top-25 opponents, including three in the top-10.

Other regional sites and the top seeded teams in each are: Athens, Ga. (Georgia), Fayetteville, Ark. (Utah), Minneapolis, Minn. (Oklahoma), Seattle (Alabama) and University Park, Pa. (Florida).
