STANFORD, Calif. – Mariah Stackhouse has been named the Pac-12 Confernece Women’s Golfer of the Month for February, the league announced Monday.

A sophomore from Riverdale, Ga., Stackhouse lead her team to a pair of first-place finishes last month. She opened February with a 1-under 141 (70-71) to finish in a tie for fourth as Stanford captured team honors at the Peg Barnard Invitational. At the UC Irvine Invitational, Stackhouse finished the 54-holes with a 4-under 212 (70-69-73) for her fourth career win. Stackhouse birdied the 488-yard, par-5 10th in each of her three rounds.

Stanford finished in first place at the UC Irvine Invitational with an even par at the par-72, 5,842-yard course. The Cardinal is one victory away from matching its three-match winning streak to begin the spring portion of last season’s schedule.

Stackhouse has finished in the top 10 in every tournament this season, and finished in the top five in both tournaments this spring.  To go along with her most recent victory, Stackhouse received a sponsor exemption to the 2014 Kia Classic (March 27-30) at the Aviara Golf Club.

Stanford is currently ranked No. 4 in the latest Golfweek national rankings.

This is Stanford's first golfer of the month recipient this season and Stackhouse's first career golfer of the month award.
