STANFORD, Calif. – The Stanford wrestling program and seventh-year head coach Jason Borrelli have announced its schedule for the upcoming 2014-15 season. The Pac-12 Networks will announce its broadcast dates in mid-September and the wrestling schedule will be finalized at that time.
Stanford will wrestle in 15 duals and compete in some of the nation's most competitive collegiate tournaments this year. The Cardinal will have six home dates with eight duals on the docket, featuring non-conference dates against Northwestern and North Carolina.
The Cardinal opens the 2014-15 campaign on the road at Cal Baptist in an outdoor dual on Saturday, Nov. 1 in Riverside, Calif. Stanford will also wrestle Pac-12 foe CSU Bakersfield on Sunday, Nov. 2 in Bakersfield, Calif.
Stanford’s home opener is slated for Saturday, Nov. 8 against Northwestern out of the Big Ten. The Cardinal welcomes North Carolina to The Farm on Saturday, Nov. 15, marking the team’s final home date before the New Year.
Stanford will wrestle in four tournaments, starting with the Roadrunner Open in Fresno, Calif., on Nov. 16. The Cardinal will make its first appearance at the Keystone Classic in Philadelphia, Pa., on Sunday, Nov. 23. After almost a month hiatus, Stanford will be back in action on Sunday, Dec. 21 at the Reno Tournament of Champions.
Stanford will bring in 2015 at arguably the toughest regular season tournament in the country, the Southern Scuffle. The Cardinal will wrestle in Chattanooga, Tenn., Jan. 1-2.
After a road trip to Oregon State on Saturday, Jan. 10, the Cardinal will host Brown and Menlo College on Sunday, Jan. 11, Cal Poly and Air Force on Sunday, Jan. 18 and Arizona State on Sunday, Jan. 25.
The Cardinal will take on Utah Valley in Orem, Utah on Saturday, Jan. 31 before a Pac-12 dual at Boise State on Sunday, Feb. 1.
Stanford’s Senior Day is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 8 against San Francisco State. The Cardinal will close out the dual season on the road at Big Ten foe Nebraska on Feb. 13 and at South Dakota State on Feb. 14.
Oregon State will host the Pac-12 Championships on Sunday, March 1 at Gill Coliseum. The tournament will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks. The NCAA Championships will be held Mar. 19-21 in St. Louis, Mo.
