OKLAHOMA CITY – Redshirt senior Ryan Mango saw his career come to a close, Friday, falling in the consolation bracket of the 2014 NCAA Wrestling Championships at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Mango, the 11th seed at 133 pounds, dropped a 3-1 decision to eighth-seeded David Thorn of Minnesota. Despite being the aggressor in the match, he gave up a takedown in the first period which ended up being the difference.
Mango ends his time at Stanford with a 111-34 career record, ranking fifth all-time in program wins. He is one of just three Cardinal wrestlers to be a two-time conference champion and a two-time All-American.
