STANFORD, Calif. - Redshirt freshman Nathan Butler of the Stanford wrestling team has been voted the #GoStanford Student-Athlete of the Week.

Butler, a native of Leavenworth, Kan., sealed the Cardinal's 17-16 win over North Carolina on Nov. 15 with a 10-1 major decision over Josh Lehner at heavyweight. The dual was held outside at Fan Fest before Stanford football hosted Utah. It is believed to be the first outdoor dual held on the Stanford campus.

Butler wrapped up the weekend with a third-place finish at the Roadrunner Open on Sunday, Nov. 16. He went 3-1 in the tournament, including two major decision and a fall.

It marks the first weekly honor for Butler and the second consecutive award for the wrestling team this season as Evan Silver took it home last week. Wrestling becomes the first men's sport to capture the honor in back-to-back weeks since football's Toby Gerhart in 2009.

Up next, the Cardinal travels to Philadelphia, Pa., for the Keystone Classic on Sunday, Nov. 23.
