STANFORD, Calif.- Women’s soccer goalkeeper Jane Campbell has been named the #GoStanford Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 8-14.

The honor is the first for Campbell and first for a women’s soccer player since Courtney Verloo, on Sept. 23, 2013.  Campbell also was named Goalkeeper of the Week by the Pac-12 Conference, her second such honor this season.

The Kennesaw, Ga., native made a vital save in Stanford’s 1-0 overtime victory over No. 6 Florida on Friday and then played 45 shutout minutes Sunday in an 8-0 victory over Dayton. Campbell, the national leader with a 0.00 goals-against average, backtracked from the top of the box, flung her body backward and tipped the ball over the bar with a full-extension dive.

Campbell, a sophomore, has five shutouts this season and combined with Sarah Cox on two others. She has 11 shutouts for her career, placing her at No. 10 on Stanford’s career list.

Stanford continues its seven-match homestand this weekend, playing South Bay rival Santa Clara on Friday (7:30 p.m.) and Cal Poly on Sunday (3:30 p.m.).

Other Finalists: Devon Cajuste (football), Merete Lutz (women’s volleyball), Maverick McNealy (men’s golf).
