CGA Honors Stanford Gymnasts

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford men's gymnastics was well-represented on the Collegiate Gymnastics Associations All-America Scholar-Athlete list with 12 receiving honors.

Stanford posted a team GPA of 3.368, second only to William and Mary, which set an all-time record for team GPA with a 3.622 team average. 

Of the 12 gymnasts, six were selected for the First Team including Dennis Zaremski, Michael Levy, Jonathan Deaton, Brian Knott, Paul Hichwa, and Cam Backes.  For Deaton, Zaremski, and Knott, it was their second first-team honor, while Paul Hichwa improved on his second team honors from the previous season. 

Second-Team selections included Akash Modi, David Frankl, Cale Robinson, Andrew McCabe, Sean Senters and Kevin Baker.  It was Frankl's second consecutive second-team selection.

The CGA selected 77 gymnasts for the First Team, earning a GPA of 3.50 of higher, while 63 were chosen for the Second Team, earning a GPA between 3.20 and 3.499.
