STANFORD, Calif. – Rising sophomore Lilly Tinapple will represent Australia later this month at the 2014 U-23 World Championships in Varese, Italy.
“I'm really excited to be given this opportunity to represent Australia at under 23 worlds!” said Tinapple. “The other girls and I are fired up to see what we can do over in Italy.”
Tinapple is a member of the Australia coxed eight. She made the team by racing with other collegiate rowers in the U.S. who were from Australia in a regatta on Lake Mercer in West Windsor, N.J. in June.
Since racing in New Jersey, Tinapple has been training at Dartmouth in New Hampshire. She is set to leave tomorrow for Italy to train at the pre-worlds training camp at the Australian European training centre in Varese.
Tinapple will be in Varese all the way up until the U-23 World Championships begin on July 24. The first women’s eight race at U-23 World’s will take place on Friday, July 25 at 12:18 p.m.
Last year Tinapple competed at the U-23 World Championships in Linz, Austria, placing fourth in the women’s eight.
