WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Rising senior Nancy Miles will race for a spot on the United States Under-23 National Team tomorrow after winning the rep on Tuesday.
Miles is competing in the Ltwt B 2x event. After falling short of the top spot in the heat yesterday, Miles and her boatmate flew soared to victory with a time of 7:24.05 to claim a spot in the finals. She was able to beat out two fellow Stanford rowers from the lightweight squad as Katherine Christel and Jackie Huddle came in second in the race.
On Wednesday Miles will race against a future Stanford rower as signee Devin Norder will also be in the 2x final. Norder won the heat on Monday to advance to the last race. The final will take place at 8:50 a.m. ET. There are four boats in the race with Miles in lane one and Norder in lane three.
The winner of the final will make the roster for the U23 World Championships in Varese, Italy July 23-27.
