STANFORD, Calif. – Four Stanford games will be featured on the Pac-12 Networks during the 2014 season, as announced by the conference Thursday.
The Cardinal, known for consistently playing one of the nation’s most challenging schedules, will have three nonconference matches and one NorPac conference game televised.
Stanford makes its 2014 debut during the season-opener against Delaware on Aug. 29 at 3 p.m. (PT). It will be the first meeting with the Blue Hens since 2005.
The Cardinal returns to the Networks two weeks later for a full weekend of coverage when it takes on Iowa on Sept. 12 at 12 p.m. and faces off against Albany on Sept. 14 at 11 a.m.
The final broadcast of the season pits Stanford against California on Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. The Cardinal is 4-0 against the Golden Bears in games televised on the Pac-12 Networks.
Stanford is coming off an impressive 2013 season in which it registered its fifth consecutive 15-win season, finishing 16-5 overall, and claimed its fifth straight NorPac West regular season title. The Cardinal, which has been included in the national rankings for all but one week over the past four years, spent each week of 2013 ranked 13th or higher, including matching a program-best No. 6 ranking in two consecutive weeks.
The national respect Stanford receives can be partly attributed to its commitment to consistently playing one of the nation’s toughest nonconference schedules. The Cardinal played seven teams that earned bids to the 2013 NCAA Tournament and went 4-3 against top-20 opponents, with three of those wins coming on the road.
