The Scoop
• No. 4 Stanford earned the Pac-12 Conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Regional Championships field with its one-stroke victory at the league tournament. It was the program’s first Pac-12 team title since 1999. The Cardinal heads to Tallahassee, Fla., as the East Region’s third seed.

• A fixture at the NCAA Regionals since 1993, this will be Stanford’s 22nd consecutive postseason appearance.

• The Cardinal has four top-10 finishes in its last four NCAA Regional cameos. In fact, its 14th-place finish in 2009 was the program’s only finish outside of the top 10.

• The highest NCAA Regional finish for Stanford came in 2007, when it tied for first in St. George, Utah.

• Stanford was fifth at last season’s NCAA Regional contested at Stanford Golf Course. Three Cardinal finished in the top-20, including three players from this week’s lineup -- Mariko Tumangan (t-10th), Mariah Stackhouse (t-14th) and Lauren Kim (t-18th).

• Marissa Mar will be making her third career NCAA Regional appearance. It will be third for Tumangan and second for both Kim and Stackhouse. This week marks the NCAA Regional debut for Casey Danielson.

• The Cardinal has 11 top-10 finishes in 11 events this season. Stackhouse has notched two wins and 10 top-10 finishes.

The Tournament
• The 54-hole event will be held May 8-10 at Southwood Golf Club, one of the premier golf courses in the state of Florida. It marks the first time Florida State will play host to the event.

• The four individuals from each team with the lowest scores for any 18-hole round constitute the scoring members of the team for that round. The team championship will be awarded to the squad with the lowest total combined score for all rounds.

• Eight teams and two individuals will advance from each regional to the NCAA Championships.

The Field
• Stanford will be among 24 teams at the NCAA East Regional, and one of 13 conference champions. The Cardinal will be joined by Duke, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Pepperdine, UCF, Virginia, Auburn, North Carolina State, Florida State, Kentucky, Tulane, Louisville, Baylor, East Tennessee State, Georgia, Campbell, East Carolina, Texas State, College of Charleston, Troy, Murray State, Seton Hall and Alabama State.

The Course
• Southwood Golf Club will be one of three courses holding court for NCAA Regional action along with Creek Golf Club (Stillwater, Okla.) and Tumble Creek at Suncadia Resort (Seattle, Wash.). The three sites will welcome a combined 72 teams and 18 individuals.

• Southwood Golf Club was created by The St. Joe Company and one of the most celebrated layouts in Florida. Named one of the Top 35 New Courses in America by Golf Magazine and among America’s Best New Courses by Golf Digest, Southwood was also recognized as one of the top-50 courses for women by Women in Golf Magazine and voted Tallahassee’s Best Golf Course by Tallahassee Magazine.

• Masterfully designed by PGA Tour legend Fred Couples and his renowned design partner, architect Gene Bates, Southwood Golf Club is an upscale public facility nestled among rolling hills, pastureland, and ancient oak trees draped in Spanish moss.

The Last Time Out
• Stanford is coming off its second-ever Pac-12 Conference title, rallying to win the 2014 event at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, Ore. With Stanford’s 5-over 869, the Cardinal (286-291-292) went from third after its second round to raising the conference trophy on the strength of a one-stroke win over Arizona.

• The feat came against a premier field which made the Pac-12 Championships one of the best showcases of collegiate golf this season. Six Pac-12 teams were ranked among the top-11 in the nation heading into the tournament, including defending NCAA champion and top-ranked USC.

The Next Time Out
• The NCAA Championships will be played May 20-23 at Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Okla.
