STANFORD, Calif. -- Stanford looks to continue its push to get in the NCAA postseason conversation when rival California visits for three games starting Saturday. The Cardinal has won six of its last seven, including a 4-1 mark in one-run games since April 13.

Cal Quantrill will get the game one start for Stanford on Saturday afternoon against Cal’s Daulton Jefferies.

Quantrill has lost his last two outings despite decent performances. He was knocked around for five runs in 5.2 innings at Washington April 12, but came back to allow just one earned run in 6.0 innings against Arizona State April 18. The Sun Devils put a total of three runs on the board against Quantrill, as the Cardinal fell 3-2.

Stanford’s hot bats look to give Quantrill more run support than the six runs they have given him over his last four starts. The Cardinal has pounded out 21 hits in its last two games to score 16 runs, its third-best two-game output of the season.

Alex Blandino leads the Cardinal with a .310 average, eight doubles and six homers. Blandino, who has as many walks as strikeouts, blasted two home runs at Saint Mary’s April 23.

Reigning Pac-12 Player of the Week Danny Diekroeger has also been seeing the ball well, as he owns a .375 average in the last six games. Diekroeger had back-to-back walk-off singles to beat Saint Mary’s April 15 and Arizona State April 17, before providing another game-winner in the form of a solo home run to beat ASU 1-0 April 19.

John Hochstatter will get the ball Sunday on Pac-12 Networks and the Cardinal’s Monday starter, for another Pac-12 Networks game, has yet to be announced.
