Stanford men's soccer, fresh off of a breakout 2013 campaign in which it reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, has continued its roll with positive results in its first two matches of the 2014 spring season.

The Cardinal opened the spring campaign with a 1-1 draw April 9 against the San Jose Earthquakes, as Bobby Edwards netted the Stanford goal. The match held special significance as it allowed the Cardinal to gain valuable experience against a professional club, and because it featured two recent Stanford standouts in Adam Jahn and JJ Koval facing off against their former teammates as members of the Earthquakes.

This past Saturday the Cardinal traveled to San Luis Obispo to face Cal Poly in spring action. There, Stanford got goals from Jordan Morris and Brandon Vincent while the defense held firm against the Mustangs to pick up the clean sheet.

Stanford hits the midpoint of its five-match spring season this Saturday, hosting San Francisco at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium at 4 p.m. Admission to the match is free.

The Cardinal's final two matches of the season are Saturday, April 26 at UC Davis, and Saturday, May 10 against the Sacramento Republic at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium. The campaign will officially close with the Alumni Match Saturday, May 17.
