The Scoop
• Stanford closes out the regular season at the Ping/Arizona State Invitational (April 4-6) in Tempe, Ariz. This will serve as a final tune-up before the Pac-12 Conference Championships (April 25-27) in Corvallis, Ore.

• The three-day, 54-hole tournament gets underway Friday on the par-72, 6,223-yard course layout.

• Stanford boasts three players in Golfweek’s individual rankings, including Mariah Stackhouse (5th), Lauren Kim (18th) and Casey Danielson (37th).

• The Cardinal has finished in the top-10 nine times in as many events this season.

• The host Sun Devils have won the PING/Arizona State Invitational 19 times. Stanford has won the event once.

• Arizona State’s Anna Nordqvist set the individual low record in 2007, shooting a 10-under 206 over three rounds. Alabama set the team scoring record with an 845 in 2013.

The Field
• This season’s PING/Arizona State Invitational showcases seven of the top-10 teams in the country. The 15-team field includes No. 10 Stanford, No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 Duke, No. 5 Oklahoma, No. 6 Arizona State, No. 8 South Carolina, No. 9 Arizona, No. 11 Washington, No. 12 Vanderbilt, No. 21 Oregon, Cal, Oregon State, Texas, UC Davis and Washington State.

The Course
• Arizona State’s Karsten Golf Course is a classic Pete Dye, links-style course set in the shadows of Sun Devil Stadium. The challenging design features Dye’s signature mounding and creative bunkering, making proper club selection essential for low scoring.

• Opened in 1989, more than one million rounds have been played on the course. The golf course was built by the Sun Angel Foundation, is owned by Arizona State University and managed by Lyon Golf.

The Statement
• Margot and Mitch Milias Director of Women’s Golf Anne Walker previews the event …
“We’re looking forward to playing in Tempe. It’s one of our favorite events. The weather looks good for the weekend and hopefully we can post some low scores.”

The Last Time Out
• Stanford tied for second at the San Diego State Farms Invitational, shooting a 1-over 289 to finish the event at even-par with No. 2 UCLA. The teams went head-to-head with top-ranked USC, which won the tournament after shooting a final-round 6-under to notch a 3-under for the tournament.

• Lauren Kim was 6-under for the tournament to finish second, and Casey Danielson was 5-under for third. Stackhouse made Stanford the only team with a trio of players in the top-10, signing in at fifth with a 1-over 217.
