STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 11 Stanford women’s rowing team will be in Lowell, Ore. on Saturday to compete with four other teams in the Oregon State Classic on Dexter Reservoir.
Joining the Cardinal among the five schools in the field are host school No. 20 Oregon State, Duke, No. 9 Michigan and No. 2 Ohio State. Coupled with the two ranked opponents Stanford saw last weekend in the PAC-12 Challenge, the Cardinal will have faced five ranked teams in a span of eight days.

The morning session will begin at 9 a.m. Stanford’s first race will be a half hour later at 9:30 a.m. when the varsity four takes on Michigan and Ohio State. The Stanford varsity four is coming off a pair of good wins last weekend, including handing No. 3 Virginia its first loss of 2013-14.
At 10 a.m. the second varsity eight will be in action and the final race of the morning will be the varsity eight at 10:30 a.m.
In the afternoon session, the Cardinal will race against all four schools. They will have one of the outside lanes for the varsity four race at 2:15 p.m. The two eights then go back-to-back with the second varsity eight taking the middle lane at 2:30 p.m. and the varsity eight starting in lane two at 2:45 p.m.
Stanford has two individuals on its roster from the state of Oregon. Fifth-year senior Valerie Frank and freshman Ruth Narode both hail from Portland, which is two hours north of where the races will take place.
The Cardinal will look to build upon its opening performance last Saturday. They took one of the four races versus No. 3 Virginia and three of the four against No. 17 Louisville to start out the year.

From I-5 North or South: - Take Exit 188A Highway 58/Willamette Hwy - Towards Oakridge - Follow Highway 58 East for approximately 13.5 miles - Left at Jasper-Lowell Rd. (Covered Bridge is on left-hand side right before the turn) - Follow Jasper-Lowell Rd. for 0.7 Miles - Left on North Shore Dr. - North Shore Dr. turns into Pengra Rd. - Lowell Recreation Site is located 0.7 miles from turn on the left hand side.
