Why did you decide to come to Stanford?
Many reasons, but the combination of excellent academics and athletics is at the top of the list.
When you were a kid and even now, who would be your role models in the sport?
Joe Mauer and Torii Hunter.
What is one tip you would give to a student-athlete to be successful in school and their sport?
Other than having good time management, I would say take advantage of all the resources available to you and be proactive in seeking help.
What are your favorite and least favorite training drills?
Favorite: batting practice
Least Favorite: infield warm up/roll ground balls
What is your major at Stanford, and what are your career aspirations?
I’m undeclared but interested in math and science, and I hope to go into engineering or medicine.
What is one personal goal for the 2014 season?
Help my team win a national championship.
What is the best advice you have ever gotten, and from whom?
“Life isn’t always fair, deal with it.” – My dad.
What are three things on your bucket list?
1. See a game at every MLB ballpark
2. Travel to Europe
3. Break a world record
