STANFORD, Calif. – Richard Sherman, Doug Baldwin and the NFC’s No. 1-seeded Seattle Seahawks started Saturday with a win for former Stanford players in the NFL, but the Indianapolis Colts and three ex-Cardinal lost at New England and Thomas Keiser's San Diego Chargers fell in Denver.

Sherman and the rest of the league’s top defensive unit limited New Orleans to just 15 points, including zero through the first three quarters, to lead Seattle to a 23-15 win. Baldwin helped seal the win with a 24-yard catch on a third-and-three play late in the fourth quarter that led to a touchdown on the next play.

The Colts and quarterback Andrew Luck hung with New England for three quarters, before eventually falling 43-22. Luck hit Griff Whalen and Coby Fleener a total of 11 times, as he threw for 331 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions.

San Diego could not duplicate their effort of the regular season against Denver when Keiser picked off Peyton Manning to end a victory. Instead, the Chargers were held scoreless through three quarters and the Broncos hung on for a 24-17 win.

Sherman and Baldwin represent the remaining Stanford players in the playoffs who were active this week. Sione Fua was inactive for Denver and Alex Debniak is on the San Francisco 49ers' reserve/injured list, although both of their teams are still alive.
