Scouting UC Davis
UC Davis (3-7) has lost five in a row, falling 87-81 to Nevada in overtime on Dec. 7 ... The Aggies, who are winless in four road games, open Big West play on Jan. 9 against Cal State Northridge ... UC Davis is averaging 70.7 points while shooting 46.0 percent overall. But opponents are averaging 78.0 points, shooting 46.1 percent overall and own a +6.2 rebounding edge ... Keep an eye on: Corey Hawkins (17.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 74.0 percent FT), Josh Ritchart (17.3 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 63.2 percent FG, 56.3 percent 3FG), Darius Graham (7.4 ppg, 44 assists) ... UC Davis finished 14-17 last year, advancing to the Big West Tournament quarterfinals.

Stanford All-Time Against UC Davis
Stanford has dominated the all-time series with a 16-1 advantage. The Cardinal cruised past the Aggies 75-52 at Maples Pavilion last December for its fourth straight win in the series. UC Davis came away with its only win (64-58) in the series on Dec. 4, 2005, one of only two games to be played in Davis.

Takeaways From The South Dakota State Game
Chasson Randle’s 21 points led four players in double figures as Stanford overwhelmed South Dakota State 92-60 in a regional game to conclude the Progressive Legends Classic ... Stanford shot 59.6 percent overall, 7-14 from long distance and 17-22 from the foul line while dishing out 15 assists. The Cardinal shot 66.7 percent (24-36) in the first half ... Stanford built a 58-24 halftime lead, its most points in any half since ambushing Harvard 63-28 over the first 20 minutes on the way to a 111-56 rout back on Nov. 8, 2007 ... Stanford limited South Dakota State to just 33.8 percent shooting overall and a 6-25 mark from three-point range. The Jackrabbits were also forced into 15 turnovers ... Anthony Brown added 19 points and Josh Huestis pitched in with 13, as both finished two rebounds shy of notching a double-double. Stefan Nastic chipped in with 10 points ... Head coach Johnny Dawkins picked up his 100th career win. Dawkins joined Mike Montgomery (393), Howard Dallmar (256), Everett Dean (167) and John Bunn (108) as the only coaches in school history with 100 victories on The Farm ... The Cardinal has now made at least one three-pointer in 396 consecutive games, dating back to an 0-6 outing against Purdue in the John Wooden Tradition on Nov. 24, 2001.

Starting Five Has Been Impressive
Head coach Johnny Dawkins has employed a starting lineup of Chasson Randle, Anthony Brown, Josh Huestis, Dwight Powell and Stefan Nastic in every game. It’s easy to see why, as Stanford boasts an experienced starting five that is capable of reaching double digits every time out. All four starters with the exception of Nastic (7.8 ppg) are averaging double-figure scoring. That being said, the Cardinal must find a way to jump-start its bench.
