STANFORD, Calif. – For the second straight year, Stanford has sold through its allocation of tickets to the Rose Bowl Game.

Fans packed Stanford Stadium throughout the 2013 regular season, as the Cardinal sold out the entire seven-game home campaign for the first time in program history. Stanford season ticket holders were provided first priority to purchase Rose Bowl Game tickets, and the few remaining tickets were sold mere minutes after they went on sale Tuesday to non-season ticket holders.

A limited number of tickets will be available for Stanford students to purchase online (login and SUID required) beginning Tuesday evening at 9 p.m. (PT).

Last year, Stanford was fortunate to have access to additional tickets beyond its original allocation due to the unique circumstances of the match up (Wisconsin's third consecutive Rose Bowl game appearance).  This year, there was less flexibility and available quantities were limited.

The BCS fan train continues for the Cardinal, which sold out its allocation of ticket sales to last season’s Rose Bowl Game and sent legions of fans to the 2012 Fiesta Bowl and 2011 Orange Bowl.

Stanford will take on Michigan State in the 100th Rose Bowl Game presented by VIZIO at 1:30 p.m. (PT) on Jan. 1, 2014, at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, Calif.

Now in its 14th appearance all-time in the Rose Bowl Game, Stanford’s return to Pasadena marks its first back-to-back trip to “The Granddaddy of Them All” since 1970-71.

Stanford (11-2, 7-2 Pac-12), ranked fifth in the latest BCS standings, earned the automatic bid to the Rose Bowl Game following a convincing 38-14 victory at Arizona State in the Pac-12 title match last Saturday. Stanford is making its fourth consecutive BCS bowl appearance, making the Cardinal just one of five programs to accomplish that feat.
