STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford women’s gymnastics will host an exhibition meet Sunday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. against San Jose State in the gymnastics training facility in the Ford Center.
The event will be the first opportunity for fans to watch the 2013-14 Cardinal team, which features 12 returners and six newcomers.
Stanford will see San Jose State again in its first meet of the season Jan. 5 at the NorCal Quad meet at Sacramento State. The Cardinal defeated the Spartans twice in 2013, winning last year’s installment of the NorCal Quad meet (195.425-192.875) and a quad-meet at Arizona (196.025-192.550).
Stanford enters the 2014 season having competed in 10 NCAA Championships in the past 13 years, made 30 consecutive NCAA Regional appearances and accumulated 96 All-America honors (including 75 since 2002). The Cardinal is one of seven teams in the nation to make six Super Six appearances in the past 12 years (2002-13).
Stanford opens its regular season home schedule Jan. 12 against Georgia.
