STANFORD, Calif. – The honors continued to roll in for Stanford senior Rachel Williams as she has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week for Nov. 18-24, the organization announced today.

Williams, who was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, led Stanford to sweeps over then-No. 3 Washington and Washington State last week. She paced the team with 3.67 kills, 4.58 points and 3.33 digs per set in the two matches, all marks above her season averages. She also posted a .475 attack percentage in the matches against the Washington schools, upping her season average from .219 to.235.

Williams led all Stanford players with 11 kills on a .529 hitting percentage to go with nine digs, four blocks and two aces as the Cardinal handed the then-third-ranked Huskies their first 3-0 loss of the season and just second overall. Against WSU, the Los Gatos, Calif., native finished with her team-best ninth double-double of the year with 11 kills and 11 digs. She hit .435 against the Cougars and helped head coach John Dunning become just the fourth active NCAA Division I head coach to reach the 800-win plateau.

Williams earns the first national honor of her career and the first by a Cardinal player since Karissa Cook received the accolade during the 2011 season. Overall, Williams’ award is the 15th by a Stanford player all-time. The Cardinal is currently on a seven-match winning streak and has posted 3-0 sweeps in 18 of its 22 wins on the year.

No. 3 Stanford (22-5, 15-3 Pac-12) concludes the regular season this week at Arizona on Wednesday, Nov. 27 before returning to The Farm to host California on Senior Night, Friday, Nov. 29.
